It is a lady's privilege to be beautiful...

Marie Antoinette & Versailles Style

Since I was a young girl, I have been fascinated by the life of the ill fated Marie Antoinette. I remember seeing the beautiful portraits of her and her family and always wondered what it would be like to grow up as a princess in that household. Later in life, I would pick up books on the lavish French style, art & architecture, in particular, that of Versailles. To see the luxurious way the palace was decorated and how simple but still elegant Le Petit Trianon was styled, made my eyes widen with amazement. To this day, I still enjoy reading about Marie and learning about the styles that have become synonymous with sumptuousness and beauty. When the newest Marie Antoinette movie was released, I couldnt wait to see it, the previews looked so enticing. I wasnt disappointed when I finally got to view the flick. The exquisite details of the costumes, hairstyles, jewelry, decoration, and the story drew me in to the heart of the film, which was based on Marie's first years thru her tender teenage years, the unfruitful years when she wasnt able to conceive and to her final days as the Queen of France.

I have created this page to help inspire those who share this passion. I also carry many Marie Antoinette inspired furniture, gifts, tableware, linens and more in my webstore, www.cleopatrasboudoir.ecrater.com
